NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS! On September 1, an historic name change affected us all. The official name of our association is now: National Association for Music Education. We will write it in this acronym: NAfME. It is preferred that we pronounce it as individual letters n-a-f-m-e. The web site's name will change to www.nafme.org. There is an official logo (published here after September 1) that we should use in all correspondance and mailing, with the specified colors. See the whole message from Becky Spray at this link. (Click here)

Just moved or moving? Be sure to update your MENC record, so we will have your new address and e-mail information. (See last paragraph, below)

E-mail link to the Oklahoma LEGISLATURE (You can reach ALL your legislators, STATE AND FEDERAL with ONE link.)

Are you not receiving OkMEA e-mails? . Check two things:
     1. Log on to your MENC account www.menc.org, have your membership number handy. Update your record so that your primary e-mail is in
the FIRST e-mail slot and repeated in the second. Nearly 50 members have incorrect e-mails listed with MENC/OkMEA.
     2. Check with your school's web manager to see if the school server is blocking group e-mails from OkMEA. (More 10 members'
e-mails ARE blocked by the school server. If you are one of these, do not list your school e-mail with MENC. The list of blocked e-mails
is temporarily listed on the LATE NEWS page of this web site.
If either of these conditions keep you from receiving OkMEA e-mails, you may miss important association announcements, including All-
           State application information.
